Character Over Marks: What Truly Matters

"Marks are just numbers. Character helps us in Critical situations, where numbers don't" is a very famous quote by Jim Rohn. This quote underlines the importance of a strong character. Marks shows one's academic performance. Character builds one's personality, his uniqueness, his talents and what not. Where marks help one to progress academically, character helps one to develop overall.

How can one build a character?" This question now arises. Building a character is a very simple task. For having a good character, one always needs to be disciplined, punctual, honest, etc. Character helps an Individual in every thing, starting from walking properly to respecting elders, from developing personality to strengthening mental care.

Character building only requires some initial steps, which at first may seem a bit harsh but have a great great impact on one's life. Characters is a small word with long lasting footprints in our lives.

In today's world where marks play a major role, character helps in building personality. Students are often judged by their academic performances, their grades, their marks, but the practical world does not need marks, it needs character and knowledge. It requires far more than grades, it requires a person's capability, uniqueness, personality.

There are a number of role models of great leaders who portray us the perfect picture of how one's character needs to be. Talking about some names, always including Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Christiano Ronaldo, etc. Mahatma Gandhi's character was so strong that with the help of his colleagues, he forced the Britishers to withdraw. Such examples are always an inspiration to others.

In this world the success of students does not only depend upon their marks but it also depends upon how one treats others, respects punctuality, courage, honesty, etc. Success is always measured by the character and personality not by how good he is academically and nor his report cards.

In this age, where  for one opportunity there are millions and billions of people waiting for,  the one who has the best character, who thinks wisely and acts more is always the chosen one. For conquering this, one must always ask himself. "Is this thing necessary?" and if your mental core gives an answer, then you are on the first step of the staircase of success.

No matter how many ups and downs we have in our life, we must always stay tough from within. Then and then only one can build a character which proves to be an inspiration, a hope and an idol for the ones who are on their way to building character. Life is not about harsh truths, it's about how you tackle them and learn from them An individual must need to be good in every aspect of life, from academics to uniqueness, from personality to self -motivated, everything.

In conclusion, the character is the salt from which  our whole life tastes amazing.
